a. Education Saginaw Public Schools Germania Society Kindergarten "Old Germania" School Saginaw High School - graduated 1913 Michigan State College - graduated 1920 with B.S. in Civil Eng. Registered Professional Engineer b. WW I Enlisted 1917 - 1st ROTC at Ft. Sheridan Commissioned 2nd Lt. Infantry 15 August 1917. Promoted to 1st Lt. Infantry 28 September 1918. Spent 9 months in France with 338th Infantry. Participated in operations of the 2nd Army against the Germans between the Meuse and Moselle Rivers on November 9 to 11, 1918. War service chevrons authorized on 2 February 1919. Honorably discharged at Camp Custer, Michigan on 29 April 1919. b. Employment City of Saginaw since June 1920. Twenty four years in Engineering Division. In 1927 - 29 he was project engineer for construction of the Water Filtration Plant. During the depression, he was in charge of various federal projects, jects, including the Ojibway Island development and expansion of Forest Lawn Cemetery. City Assessor from May 15, 1944 to 1960. Member Saginaw County Board of Supervisors from 16 May 1944 to 1965. c. WW II Administration of War Transportation Conservation Committee for conservation of gasoline, tires and automobiles and for more efficient use of same and mass transportation system. Developed "Share the Ride" program in Saginaw. Published lished report of survey of Bus Transportation which made it possible for Saginaw to obtain 7 of the 2000 buses manufactured during the war. d. a Mason - Shrine e. Member of Germania (Life Member) f. American Legion Post 22 g. WWI Veterans Barracks No. 471 (VFW Augres, MI) h. Member and presidnet of the Municpal Assessors Association of Michigan i. Member of the National Association of Assessing Officers j. member of the Society of Residential Appraisers k. President of Saginaw Engineering Club h.
